Laura Walker passed away on October 30, 2021 in Redmond, Washington at the age of 53. Born in Seattle, Washington on January 31, 1968, she is the daughter of Linda Richardson and George Grayson.
Walker grew up in the “CD” which is affectionally known as the Central District in Seattle, Washington. She attended Leschi Elementary, Eckstein Middle School, Garfield High School and later attended Griffin College in the 1990’s, graduating with a certificate in home care aide. Walker worked as a caregiver for the elderly for the last 27 years.
Walker was a devoted mother. She loved to have a good time with her family and friends, and she was the life of the party. She loved to cook, dance, eat and host gatherings and bring everyone together. She had the loudest laugh and the biggest smile that would light up any room or warm any heart. Walker will be remembered as loving, crazy, loud, funny, free spirited, and compassionate. She loved hard and would travel any distance or give her all to be there for those she loved and cared about.
Walker is survived by her mother, Linda Richardson; her children, Martrice Walker Grant , Precious Grant, Eddrick Grant, and James Walker; her brother, Hrail Walker; her sisters, Lavita Walker and Ruthie Walker; 15 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, George Grayson; her late granddaughter, Malijha Walker Grant; her son/nephew, Royale Lexing and her nephew, Da’Rell Walker.
A homegoing service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 124 21st Avenue in Seattle, Washington. Donations on the family’s behalf are being accepted via a Go Fund Me page listed under Laura Walker.
