“I think the Colin Kaepernick issue is unfair to him and he needs to be given the same exact opportunities as all other NFL players and it is clear that he is not. And, it’s clear why and I think that what he is doing is awesome, he is an awesome person and I commend him for standing up for what he believes in.”
Mohamed…
“I think that what is happening to Colin isn’t fair and the media should pay more attention and help to support him especially if they can.”

“I believe it’s important to use your platform for activism no matter what it is. I don’t feel like people should be punished for speaking out for injustice in this case or what they perceive to be injustice against African Americans or police brutality against the African American.”
Patricia…
“My opinion for the whole Colin Kaepernick thing is, it is just [messed] up. Mainly because every time a Black person in America tries to do something right, he’s always shut down, all the time. Black men, Black women it seems like this is our history. I feel like this is a whole race issue, but that’s just my opinion and think this is why this is happening to him because he is a Black man in America.”
Andrea Hart…
“What I think about the Colin Kaepernick saga is he is trying to bring out the awareness of the social injustices that are happening in this country and he’s using a non violent stance in trying to get that message out and people are taking it the wrong way. And, even though it was suggested to him by a veteran to kneel, people think that he shouldn’t kneel to the Star Spangled Banner which if anyone has read the third stanza of the song it mentions slavery and genocide, so I feel like we shouldn’t even be using that song to represent our country.”
Khepra…
“I think Colin Kaepernick took a stance in his own way by deciding he was not going to go along with it. He decided he was not going to go along with something he considered to not represent him. Whether you’re dealing with racism or you’re not being acknowledged for who you are, if someone asks me to take a knee or tell me to rise based on a standard that does not represent me or not looking out for my best interest, then I don’t have to participate. But I saw that he took a stand so I applaud him.”
